Formalities
1.1.
Clerk
opened the Parish Council Meeting.
1.2.
The
Clerk welcomed the old and new councillors.
1.3.
The
Clerk asked for nominations for Chairman. Brian Hunter proposed and seconded,
all in favour.
1.4.
The
Chairman asked for nominations for Vice Chairman. Paul Hilton proposed and
seconded, all in favour.
1.5.
The
meeting resumed at 7.25pm.

Apologies
for absence

3.
Minutes
of Last Meeting
The Clerk read the minutes of the last meeting. Approved.
4.
Matters
Arising
4.1.
ACIS
re access to property next to Village Hall for remedial repairs.
4.2.
Sewage
Pump, as minuted in Annual Parish Meeting
4.3.
The
Clerk resigned and handed over to the new Clerk Mr David Lofthouse to take the
minutes.
5.
Highways
Overgrown footpaths as minuted in Annual Parish Meeting
6.
Police
Report
The mobile police station will again visit on Monday 27th may 2002
between 11am and 4pm.
7.
Neighbourhood
Watch
There had been no meetings to attend since the last Parish Council meeting.
Another co-ordinator to replace Pam Hubber is needed, her daughter Angie kindly
agreed to replace her. Brian Hunter to contact HQ shortly for changeover.
Neighbourhood watch has now acquired a property marker kit to postcode personal
property. This could be loaned for a limited time to anyone in the village who
wishes to mark their own property.

Treasurer’s
Report
Phil Pammenter reported. Due to changeover of Clerks there is no record
available.
9.
Correspondence
9.1.
Request
from the Air Training Corps to use playing field for camping overnight and the
Village Hall for toilet facilities. To arrive Saturday 6th July 2002
and depart Sunday 7th July 2002. ATC usually gives a donation to Village
Hall.
9.2.
Hire
of Village Hall for elections on 2nd May 2002 raised £105.00
9.3.
Invoice
received from the Viking Centre for the use of their building for two Parish
Council Meetings (21st November 2001 and 15th January
2002) and one public meeting on Tuesday 26th February 2002 to
discuss Amenity Site planning proposal @ £10 per meeting, a total of £30.
9.4.
Kerbside
collection of refuse. PM read letter.
9.5.
Surveying
and recording of Lincolnshire traditional fingerpost for Highways directional
signs.
9.6.
Several
advertising circulars passed around.
10.
Any
Other Business
10.1.
Brian
Hunter thanked Sue Griffin and all her helpers for organising and running the
Easter Tea on Saturday 23rd March 2002 when £82.85 was raised
towards the refurbishment of the Village Hall.
10.2.
Bank
Mandate, new signatory required in place of Pam Hubber. Paul Hilton proposed
and seconded.
10.3.
Phil
Pammenter thanked for three and half years as Clerk. List of contacts to notify
change of Clerk.
10.4.
History
of Claxby. Liz Holmes reported that it was nearly ready for publication. There
would be a tea/coffee party to celebrate the publication, possibly the first or
second week in July, together with an exhibition of pictures and
memorabilia. There would be one book
for each household.
10.5.
Village
Lunch 30th June 2002. Helping to raise the £6,000/£7,000 that the
church needs this year. Help needed.
10.6.
Anglian
Water, water rates for Village Hall.
10.7.
Grass
cutting, two cuts before date (4th & 10th April
2002).
10.8.
Proposed
site for new picnic table in field. Brian Hunter, Paul Hilton and RT had
removed the cricket nets and framework to reveal a large concrete slab suitable
for siting the new table donated by the 100 Club.
10.9.
One
hundred Royal Golden Jubilee Medals have been ordered with the Claxby Parish
Council logo on the reverse of the case. There are 48 children in Claxby and
Normanby Le Wold and the medals are to be distributed at the Parish Lunch on 30th
June 2002. The remaining medals are to be sold.
10.10.
Bins
in the playing field require emptying.
10.11.
Goal
posts broken and to be reinstated, possibly using scaffold poles.
10.12.
Large
branch sawn off tree. Letter to be sent.
10.13.
Picnic
bench broken
10.14.
Boggle
Lane footpath very boggy in the area of the old barn. Land drains blocked.
Field and Footpath Association to be approached.
The Chairman wishes to extend the sympathy of the Parish Council for the recent
sad loss of George Surfleet who died on 11th April 2002. George had
lived in Claxby all his life and died at the age of 79 years
