Matters Arising
Andrew
Lyle is hoping to cut the hedges around the playing field
3.
Highways
Letter
requesting double lines on the A46 junction and red markers on all three roads
into and out of the village. Letter
sent to Councillor Theobald and Mr S Wiles regarding road safety on the A46 and
through the village.
Various
potholes identified, Chairman to contact highways.
4.
Police Report
Nothing
to report. The police van will be visiting the village on 12th
December 2003 from 1:00 to 4:00 pm.
5.
Neighbourhood Watch
Nothing
to report. The last meeting had been cancelled.
6.
Planning
An
application has been submitted for a new bathroom window on the north elevation
of Claxby House.
7.
Treasurer's Report
Balance
of £1667.92 reported.
8.
Playground
The
support brackets for the goalposts and nets are in the process of being
fabricated.
The
RoSPA report on the condition of the play equipment was discussed.
A
grant from Awards for All for the aerial ropeway is to be applied for.
9.
Notice Board
On
Sunday 28th September 2003 Brian Hunter, Ray Mitchell and David
Lofthouse went to Glentworth village to look at their new notice board, similar
to the type Anita Patchett from RTD described. Two notice boards have been
offered, one at Bristows corner (WLDC information only) and one to replace our
notice board next to the telephone box.

Correspondence
Letter
received from Susan Tolliday regarding the slippery wooden bridge along Boggle
Lane over the muddy area, enquiring if some kind of non-slip surface could be
put down. The Chairman rang the
Bridleway and Footpaths officer who has promised as soon as possible to lay
non-slip netting which is commonly used for this purpose

Any Other Business
There
was a power failure in the village for several hours on Friday night 14th
November 2003 due to a tree falling across power lines along Mulberry Road
outside Valley Farm.
The
Chairman wishes to extend the sympathy of the Parish Council for the sad loss
of Mrs Joyce Mumby who died peacefully in her sleep in the early hours of 16th
November 2003. Although Joyce moved out of Claxby recently she had lived at
Teresina on Mulberry Road for many years.
The
Christmas party is arranged for 6th December 2003 in the Village
Hall from 2:00 to 4:00 pm.
