Minutes of the Regular Parish Council Meeting

Held in the Village Hall on Tuesday 19th July 2005 @ 7:30pm

There was one member of the public in attendance

 

Letter of resignation received from Councillor Mary Sharp. “It is with regret that I wish to tender my resignation as Parish Councillor. I have enjoyed my time on the council and wish you all every success in the future.” Signed Mary Sharp.

 

A letter has been sent to the electoral officer notifying him of the above with a request for the relevant paperwork to advertise the vacancy that now exists.

Proposed true record Councillor Shane Bennett, seconded Councillor George Brumby.

 

2. Matters Arising

 

BT has light been repaired in telephone kiosk.

 
ATC used the playing field and donated £20.00 which has been paid into the bank.

 

A copy of the letter from Ena Johnson re the Boggle Lane footpath has been faxed to the Bridleway and Footpath Officer and he has promised a site visit as soon as possible.

 

3. Highways


Potholes along right hand side of Park Road were discussed.


4. Police Report

 

The police are considering sending letters to the youths who drove the cars and caused litter in the playing field. The Chairman will report back at the next meeting.

 

5. Neighbourhood Watch


The last meeting was cancelled.

 

6. Planning

 

Nothing to report.

 

7. Treasurer's Report

 

Balance of £2,208.23 was reported.

 

8. Playground

 

Neil Harker has removed all the excess mounds of soil in the playing field. The bare areas of ground needs re-seeding in the autumn.

 

A pony charity at Barnetby is interested in removing the portacabin in the field at their expense if we are prepared to give it to them.

 

The hedge around the field needs cutting. It was decided to ask for a quote from John Brant as it cost £52.88 last year.

 

The basketball frame needs repairing.

 

Councillor George Brumby has dug out the gutters up Normanby Rise.

 

9. Correspondence

 

Letter of resignation from Councillor Mary Sharp.

 

St Mary’s Church Parochial Parish Council would like to thank the Parish Council for all their assistance in obtaining a grant for the restoration of the church organ. This will now go ahead.

 

10. Village Hall

 

Councillor Shane Bennett to contact Amy Nicholl re setting up a village hall committee.

 

Insurance cost of £514.69 to include the new items of equipment in the playing field.

 

11. Village Activities

 

The Claxby Open Gardens on Sunday 19th June 2005 raised in excess of £2300.00.

 

A Harvest supper is planned for Sunday 18th September 2005.

 

 

12. Any Other Business

 

The cost of grass cutting to be renegotiated for 2006/7.

 

A street light not working and tarmac missing near Corner Farmhouse.
