The
Chairman stated that due to a clerical error Mrs Ann Hill’s nomination for
councillor did not go through in time. Proposal that Mrs Hill be co-opted onto
the Parish Council. Proposed Councillor
Shane Bennett, seconded Councillor Wendy Roe, all in favour.
The
Chairman Brian Hunter was re-elected, proposed Councillor Shane Bennett,
seconded Councillor Ann Hill, all in favour.
The
Chairman asked for nominations for the Vice Chair. Councillor Ann Hill proposed
by Councillor Wendy Roe, seconded by Councillor Ray Mitchell, all in favour.

Minutes of March meeting

2.
Matters Arising
A
reply had been received for Anglian Water, however the kerbstone and litter bin
at Bristow’s Corner have not yet been replaced.
All
other items to be discussed under appropriate agenda items.
3. Highways
The
Chairman has been informed by Highways that it is programmed to dig out
roadsides and rebuild them when funds are available. Councillor Bernard Theobald to contact County Councillor Tony
Turner regarding the state of local roads.
4.
Police Report
The
first meeting of the NNPP is to take place on Tuesday 23rd May 2006.
Councillor Frank Mandville to attend as the representative for Claxby Parish
Council.
5.
Neighbourhood Watch
Sometime between 16th April 2006 and 5th May 2006 someone
attempted to force open the offertory box in the church. When this failed the
box was wrenched off the pew causing damage to the lid, etc.
Sometime
between the 9th and 25th May 2006 three Peugeot aluminium
wheels were stolen from a property on Normanby Rise.
Parcel
delivery scam. If a card is received through the post from a company called PDS
saying they have a parcel awaiting delivery with instructions to contact them
on 09066 611911 it should be ignored. The number is a mail scam originating in
Belize. If the number is called and a message is heard the caller will have
been billed for £15 for the phone call. Contact Royal Mail fraud on 020
2396655. This scam is currently under investigation by ICSTIS.
6.
Planning
The
planning application for 53 log cabins has been withdrawn.
A
planning application for an amendment to the reception log cabin at the fishing
lakes has been received. There were no objections.
7.
Treasurer's Report
Balance
of £1906.11 was reported.
8.
Playground
Ralph
Thornally has started the mole clearance in the playing field.
A
team of volunteers is required to install the safety matting.
Serviceteam
to be contacted re strimming around the new play equipment.
9.
Correspondence
A
request for a donation of £125 towards the upkeep of the churchyard has been
received from Mrs Liz Holmes. The precept has been received and a cheque has
been written.
10.
Village Hall
Nothing
to report. Amy Nicholl has recently returned from maternity leave so hopefully
a committee can be organised.
11.
Village Activities
On
Saturday 8th April 2006 an Easter fair was held in the village hall
and £50.20 was raised towards the upkeep of the village hall. The Chairman
would like to thank everyone who helped to organise the event but felt it was
poorly attended considering the amount of work that was put in to organise the
day for the village.
A
church coffee morning was held on Saturday 13th May 2006 with
proceeds towards the restoration of the church organ
Coffee
mornings and new heating in the village hall were discussed.
12.
Parish Council Elections
Declaration
of Acceptance Forms were signed for the office of Councillor.
13.
Annual Return Year Ending 31st March 2006
The
Annual Return was circulated to Councillors and approved. It was signed by the
Chairman and Treasurer.
14.
Any Other Business
Normanby
road signs. John Brant and Chris Turner would like Claxby to take up the offer
as Normanby only have one parish meeting per year. Councillor Bernard Theobald
agreed to take the matter further.
A
letter from WLDC Environmental Health Department regarding burning of tyres and
other waste was read out. Councillor Bernard Theobald agreed to pursue the
matter with the department.
Councillor
Ann Hill clarified the high hedges legislation.
Refuse
collection was discussed. A community refuse officer has been appointed and may
attend a parish council meeting.
