Minutes of the Regular Parish Council Meeting

Held in the Village Hall on Tuesday 20th March 2007 @ 7:30pm

There were no members of the public in attendance

 

Meeting opened at 7:35 pm

 

Before the meeting commenced the Chairman announced that after consultation with the Chairman Councillor George Brumby has withdrawn his letter of resignation and would like to continue as a Parish Councillor. All councillors were in favour.

2. Matters Arising

 

Items to be discussed under appropriate agenda items.

 
3. Highways

 

There is no news yet of the installation of 30mph repeater signs on Normanby Rise.

 

A letter has been received from Steve Wiles regarding the newly erected fence on St Mary’s Lane.

 

The level crossing is to be closed on Tuesday night 3rd April 2007.

 

4. Police Report

 

Wendy Roe reported that some garden ornaments had been stolen on 26th February 2007.

 

5. Neighbourhood Watch

 

Nothing to report.

 

6. Planning

 

An amendment to the plans for the cottage at the bottom of Boggle Lane has been submitted. The councillors had no objections.

Plans for the erection of a garage and workshop have been submitted for Ivy Cottage near the A46. The councillors had no objections.

 

7. Treasurer's Report

 

Balance of £896.91 was reported.

 

8. Playground

 

The contact for mowing and strimming has been confirmed.

 

There has been considerable damage to the portacabin in the playing field. Most of the windows have been smashed, light fittings have been ripped from the ceiling and thrown outside, the fuse board has been ripped from the wall, some of the benches sawn up and the sink has been pulled out. The broken glass and shattered windows have been left in a dangerous condition. Two youths on pedal cycles were seen to leave shortly after the damage was noticed

 

9. Correspondence

 

The Parish Council has had a business rates demand for the village hall. Enclosed with this was a letter suggesting that we may be eligible for a 50% reduction in the rates. This will be applied for.

 

10. Village Hall

 

The ATC (Immingham) have paid £20.00 for use of the village hall and field in summer 2006.

 

It has been suggested that in the future that St Mary’s Church could be converted to a community centre.

 

11. Village Activities

 

A meeting for the Open Gardens event is planned for 22nd March 2007.

 

BT has suggested that we could paint the telephone box. BT would supply the paint. It was also reported that the telephone was in fact not working

 

12. Any Other Business

 

A meeting has been arranged with WLDC re the travellers on Thursday 5th April 2007 at 2:00pm.

14. Date and Time of Next Meeting

 

Annual Parish meeting Tuesday 15th May 2007 at 7-00pm in the Village Hall followed by the regular parish meeting at 1:30pm.

 

No other business and the meeting closed at 8:55 pm.
