Minutes of the Regular Parish Council Meeting

Held in the Village Hall on Tuesday 17th July 2007 @ 7:30pm

There were five members of the public in attendance

 

Meeting opened at 7:35pm.

 

Due to the resignation of Councillor Ann Hill another councillor is required. Mrs Judith Pilbrow of Apple Tree Cottage, Mulberry Road, Claxby, has applied for the vacancy that exists. Mrs Pilbrow was unopposed after the statutory 14 days notice of a vacancy.

2. Matters Arising

 

All matters to be discussed under appropriate agenda headings.

 
3. Highways

 

Several holes have appeared in the roads. Highways are aware and will get around to repairs asap. Police are to follow up the 30mph repeater signs.

 

4. Police Report

 

Next NNPP meeting in November.

 

5. Neighbourhood Watch

 

The Chairman of West Lindsey Association Mr Rex Butler has passed away. The date and time of the next meeting will be notified. The Chairman attended the local NHW meeting which was held at Market Rasen Police Station on Saturday 2nd June 2007 when local problems were discussed.

 


6. Planning

 

Planning application for the demolition of garage, conservatory and utility and to erect a two story extension at Langham Farm was passed.

 

7. Treasurer's Report

 

Balance of £1,752.72 was reported. In addition the Parish Council has received approximately £670 from the 100 Club.

 

8. Playground

 

New signs are to be purchased (no dogs, no horses). The have been ordered but have not yet been delivered.

 

Goal nets. Parish council may have an account with YPO.

 

Help has been enlisted for the demolition of the portacabin when the field dries up.

 

9. Correspondence

 

Letter from the St. Mary’s churchwardens. The recent Claxby Open Gardens held on Sunday 17th June 2007 was a huge success, approximately 900 people visited the village and over £3,700 was raised during the afternoon. The churchwardens would like to thank everyone who helped in any way and are very grateful.

 

Trees for Parishes scheme documentation was received.

 

Code of Conduct for Parish Councillors.

 

10. Village Hall

 

Four quartz heaters for the village hall have been purchased and will be installed shortly

 

11. Village Activities

 

The Open Gardens event raised £3700.

 

12. Flooding in the Village

 

Letter from West Lindsey read out. Culverts need to be cleared. Maintenance programme needs putting in place. Emails to be sent to relevant councillors.

 

13. Any Other Business

 

Viking Centre groups to be asked to not use the playing field after 10:00pm.

 

Stile at bottom of playing field needs attention.

 

Adam Griffin Cancer Appeal. All proceeds from the following events are to be donated to the appeal.

 

-         Blue Moon concert in St. Mary’s Church on Friday 31st August 2007.

-         Harvest Supper in the Viking Centre on Sunday 30th September 2007

-         Supper Dance in Osgodby Village Hall on 10th November 2007

-         Prize Bingo Evening and raffle in the Festival Hall after Xmas

 

Events are to include Tealby and Walesby residents. The events are co-ordinated ventures between Claxby Parish Council and St. Mary’s Church.  A special newsletter is to be produced by Councillor Shane Bennett and Clerk David Lofthouse and circulated round the village.
