1. Minutes of July meeting

 

Proposed true record Councillor Frank Mandville, seconded Councillor Shane Bennett.

 

2. Matters Arising

 

All matters to be discussed under appropriate agenda items.

 
3. Highways

 

All the holes reported to highways have now been filled in.  The meeting with County Councillor Ken Bridges was discussed.

 

4. Police Report

 

A theft took place at Mrs Pauline Woods, Mulberry Road, between 15th and 18th August while she was away on holiday. A large wooden planter and a stone solar powered fountain along with two hardwood slatted garden chairs were stolen.

 

5. Neighbourhood Watch


Nothing to report.

 

6. Planning

 

Nothing to report.

 

7. Treasurer's Report

 

Balance of £1,629.93 together with approximately £670 from the 100 club was reported.

8. Playground

 

Portacabin to be removed.

 

Tyre on Ariel Runway needs replacing.

 

9. Correspondence

 

Letter from Ken and Sue Griffin thanking Parish Council for help in fund raising for Adam was read out.

 

10. Village Hall

 

New quartz heaters to be installed in Village Hall.

 

11. Village Activities

 

Blue Moon concert in St. Mary’s Church on 31st August 2007 raised £870 towards the Adam Griffin cancer appeal.

 

The Harvest Festival on 16th September 2007 was attended by 28 people.

 

A Harvest Supper is planned for 30th September 2007. Proceeds towards the Adam Griffin cancer appeal

 

12. Adam Griffin Cancer Appeal

 

Money raised from hire of the village marquee has been donated to the appeal. Total raised to date is £33,700.

 

13. Flooding

 

County Councillor Ken Bridges visited the village. The need to keep up to date with drain and culvert maintenance was stressed and the councillors asked for a maintenance schedule to be implemented.

 

A number of improvements outside Crossways, Mulberry Road are planned.
