Minutes of the Regular Parish Council Meeting

Held in the Village Hall on Tuesday 15th July 2008 @ 7:30pm

Meeting opened 7:30pm.

 

1. Minutes of May 2008 meeting

 

Proposed true record Councillor Shane Bennett, seconded Councillor Wendy Roe.

 

2. Matters Arising

 

All matters to be discussed under appropriate agenda items.

 
3. Highways

 

The 30mph repeater signs and the playground signs have been erected. Ash trees at the Spoltons need attention. Vegetation adjacent to footpath at Langham Lodge needs cutting back. Boggle Lane sign missing. The dog bin has still not been moved. Holes in road near Fenwicks corner.

 

4. Police Report

 

The theft of metal scrap especially lead and cast iron and the theft of central heating fuel was highlighted.

 

5. Neighbourhood Watch


Nothing to report.

 

6. Planning

 

Application for log cabins at Fish Ponds Farm has been referred to the Secretary of State.

 

7. Treasurer's Report

 

Balance of £1828.87 was reported.

 

8. Playground

 

A number of repairs have been carried out including the basketball hoop and the spring and tyre on the aerial runway.  The matting still needs some attention. It was suggested that the metal gates be replaced with timber ones and the style be replaced with a kissing gate. There is a way through the hedge opposite Lancasters that needs closing. The portacabin is to be burned on Saturday 19th July after the interior panels and insulation have been removed. Moles need to be cleared. Grass cutting in the field was discussed.

 

9. Correspondence

 

Letter received from ATC thanking the Parish Council for the use of the field and village hall. Application for trees for parishes discussed.

 

10. Village Hall

 

Immingham ATC used the village hall and field on Saturday night 28th May and Sunday morning 29th May 2008.

 

11. Village Activities

 

Mr Trevor Lyle is organising a village school reunion on August 31st 2008 in the Viking Centre. A teddy bears picnic is to be held after the school reunion in the field on St Mary’s Lane.

 

Mr John Goodchild has edited a newsletter on behalf of the Parish Council, St. Mary’s Church and the Viking Centre.

 

Pam Holbrook has offered to run a quiz at the end of October.

 

12. Flooding

 

Drains appear to have been cleared.

 

13. Any Other Business

 

Complaint re the children at 2 Wold View. Debbie Cubley at Acis has been contacted.

 

John Goodchild asked if a copy of the minutes could be put in the notice board.
